Vernace Presented with Community Service Award at annual
Pro Bono Recognition Awards
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – May 9, 2016 – Anthony P. Vernace, a shareholder in the West Palm Beach Real Estate Practice of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., was honored by the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County at the May 7 Pro Bono Recognition Awards banquet held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
Vernace received the Community Service Award in recognition for his outstanding work with the YMCA of the Palm Beaches. Vernace contributed more than 100 pro bono hours to the YMCA this past year and also serves on the organization’s Board of Directors. The pro bono services Vernace rendered to the YMCA included negotiating the preliminary agreements needed to establish a YMCA facility in downtown West Palm Beach, the settlement of a construction dispute, and negotiation with a donor to construct sports fields and other facilities.
“I am truly humbled by this award,” Vernace said. “In keeping with Greenberg Traurig’s commitment to giving back to the community, I look forward to continuing to work with the YMCA to further its efforts to strengthen our community through its mission of inclusion.”
At Greenberg Traurig, Vernace focuses his practice on Florida real estate agreements and transactions, including acquiring, disposing of and financing all types of real property and negotiating commercial office leases. He has substantial experience representing homebuilders in land acquisitions and project development. He also advises institutional lenders on a wide variety of matters in connection with commercial loan workouts, including loan modifications, forbearance agreements, cross-collateralization agreements, foreclosure and taking deeds in lieu of foreclosure.
