Jaret L. Davis Named Chair of the Nicklaus Children's Hospital Board of Directors

MIAMI – Jan. 16, 2018 Jaret L. Davis, Co-Managing Shareholder of the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., was elected chair of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital board of directors. Founded in 1950 by Variety Clubs International, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is South Florida’s only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children, with nearly 800 attending physicians and more than 475 pediatric subspecialists.

The 19-member panel oversees the operations of the 289-bed nonprofit pediatric subspecialty hospital and its network of outpatient centers extending from southern Miami-Dade to Palm Beach County.

At Greenberg Traurig, Davis oversees approximately 170 attorneys and 200 business staff based in the firm’s founding office and focuses his Corporate practice on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and large financings. He represents numerous companies in the technology, health care and biotech sectors. As a founding member of the firm’s Emerging Technology Practice Group, Davis has been a driving force behind the increased focus on technology and entrepreneurship in the firm’s Miami office and has served as one of several leaders spearheading the firm’s global efforts to be a dominant player in the technology industry.

Davis is actively involved in the community, impacting the economic development in areas such as entrepreneurship, technology, education reform and digital health care. In addition to his practice, he serves in a number of civic capacities which allow him to leverage his professional interests to assist the community. He most recently served as Chair of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the official economic development partnership for Miami-Dade County, and serves as a co-founder and General Counsel of the eMerge Americas global technology conference.
