LONDON -- 19 January, 2018 -- The London office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP (GT) has added international construction lawyer Trevor Cosgrove as a shareholder in its Real Estate sector practice, which includes a global network of more than 400 attorneys in the firm’s 38 offices worldwide. Cosgrove moves to GT from his position as counsel and head of construction in the Real Estate Department at Allen & Overy LLP.
“Greenberg Traurig’s strong reputation in the global real estate arena, its cultural value, and global clients makes GT a great fit for my clients,” Cosgrove said. “Furthermore, I was drawn to the firm based on its strength in London and its undoubted commitment to the Real Estate sector as well its unmatched platform and network.”
Since January 2017, the firm has advanced one of its core strategies through the London office’s real estate sector growth with the addition of several highly regarded practitioners, earning the firm an additional boost to its already high profile international real estate practice. The Real Estate Practice at Greenberg Traurig now fields more than 150 real estate professionals outside of the U.S. covering Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Greenberg Traurig's U.S. Real Estate Practice is widely acknowledged as a market leader and was most recently awarded the Chambers USA “Award of Excellence” in 2017 for the third time. Globally, the team is comprised of more than 400 attorneys serving clients from more than two dozen markets around the globe.
“We have a dynamic team in the UK and across Europe as well as, of course, in the United States. Continuing our growth with the key addition of Trevor allows the firm to further strengthen our real estate sector offering to clients on a global scale,” said Steven Cowins, shareholder in the London Real Estate Practice.
Cosgrove focuses his construction practice on the real estate industry both in the United Kingdom and internationally. He advises corporate occupiers in relation to the headquarters requirement, as well as banks, financial institutions, and other multinational companies in relation to corporate occupational requirements and real estate and development financings. Cosgrove’s clients also include purchasers, tenants, landlords, and funders of office, residential, university, and retail space. He also represents private equity funds, fund managers, investors, and developers of residential and office portfolios. Cosgrove, who has been described by clients in The Legal 500 UK as “invaluable,” completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction at The College of Law Chester, and received a BSC, First Class Honours in Quantity Surveying, from Polytechnic of Wales (University of South Wales). He is admitted in England and Wales.
