LOS ANGELES – Dec. 4, 2018 — Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders Alice L. Connaughton and Terrence O. Davis will participate in the IMN 14th Annual Western Non-Listed Alternative Investment Symposium, set for Dec. 5-6 in Dana Point, CA.
Connaughton will speak on the panel titled, “A Candid Conversation Between Product Sponsors, Independent Broker Dealers (IBDs) & Advisors on Boosting Sales Volume.” Topics include: options for product sponsors can do to further broaden the value and appeal of alternatives to advisors and their retail investor clients; how product sponsors can help IBDs and advisors to better understand their products; and what product education efforts are proving effective with advisors.
Davis is speaking on a panel focused on interval funds. Topics will include: differences and similarities between interval funds and other alternatives; whether liquidity events are necessary; and where interval funds fit in retail investors’ portfolios.
Connaughton advises public companies, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and other companies in various capital markets transactions. She concentrates her practice in public securities offerings and routinely advises public companies regarding public reporting requirements and corporate governance compliance. Connaughton has represented several of the leading sponsors of public, non-traded REITs in connection with more than $20 billion in public offerings.
Davis advises and counsels a wide range of investment advisers, broker-dealers, and fund managers regarding various matters arising under the federal securities laws, with a particular emphasis on the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. He counsels investment advisers and registered investment companies about the structure of their compliance programs under these laws and develops related materials for investment advisers and registered investment companies, including training programs and compliance manuals. Davis also represents clients in connection with routine examinations and enforcement actions by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
