Greenberg Traurig’s Kemal Hawa and Emily Naughton Present at ACC Technology and IP Forum

McLEAN, VA – Dec. 5, 2018 — Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders Kemal Hawa and Emily G. Naughton, along with Amber Lester of CyrusOne Inc., will give a presentation for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) National Capital Region’s Technology and IP Forum: Key Issues in Cloud Contracts. The event will be live Dec. 5 from noon to 2 p.m. in Greenberg Traurig’s Northern Virginia office and viewable via webcast.

During the forum, Hawa and Naughton will discuss how nearly every business has the need for Cloud services, and accordingly has a need to enter into cloud contracts, whether in connection with basic storage and retrieval services or more complex applications involving big data analytics, the Internet of Things, or artificial intelligence.

Cloud services involve a complex and interwoven series of legal relationships with numerous players. The presenters will discuss the common types of agreements associated with doing business "in the Cloud," then explore key issues that should be considered by in-house counsel when structuring contracts with Cloud vendors. They will also provide practical guidance and tips for negotiating these Cloud services agreements, and the traps to avoid.
