TALLAHASSEE – May 17, 2018 – Liz Dudek, Director of Health Care Affairs in the Tallahassee office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., today received the United HomeCare Claude Pepper Award for Lifetime Achievement during the annual dinner at Jungle Island in Key Biscayne, Florida. The annual event pays tribute to the legacy of The Honorable Claude Pepper for his advocacy on behalf of the elderly and disabled, and honors exceptional individuals and organizations from the private and public sector who exemplify the spirit and ideals of the award’s namesake.
United HomeCare (UHC) is a nonprofit home health and community care organization that has served South Florida since 1974. UHC began as a division of the United Way, with a mission to help families care for their elderly and disabled relatives at home. It ranks as the largest home health agency in South Florida.
“I am honored to receive the United HomeCare Claude Pepper Award and to share this recognition with the other honorees,” said Dudek. “Having spent much of my career in health care, I appreciate the importance of providing seniors in our community with the quality care that they deserve. We all have to work together to champion for the elderly to ensure that they are treated with compassion and dignity.”

Bovo, Jr., Miami-Dade County Commissioner - District 13, for Public Service; and Cecil Milton, Frank Milton, Joseph Milton, and Ana Milton, The José Milton Foundation, for Philanthropic Service.
As Director of Healthcare Affairs, Dudek is part of the firm’s state and national Health & FDA Business Practice, as well as the Government Law & Policy Practice. She helps the firm’s clients navigate the healthcare system, interact with agencies, and better understand legislative affairs and their accompanying issues. Her career in Florida’s state government spanned over 40 years across a variety of senior management positions including Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration and Deputy Secretary of Health Quality Assurance. As Secretary, Dudek oversaw one of the largest Medicaid programs in the nation. Under her administration, the Agency successfully implemented the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care program and the establishment of the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. Liz has worked extensively with health care facilities, providers, and insurers.
