CHICAGO – June 26, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues to expand its Hospitality Practice with the addition of Lisa Cox as of counsel in Chicago. Cox previously served as senior counsel for Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
“I am excited to join Greenberg Traurig’s highly-regarded Hospitality Practice,” said Cox. “The deep bench of their practice and the firm’s international platform and collaboration, make this a great fit as I move back into private practice.”
Cox’s experience includes the acquisition and disposition of hotels and resorts, negotiation of management and franchise agreements, and advising on hotel operational matters. She also counsels developers through virtually all aspects of corporate development transactions, including ground-up construction of mixed-use buildings.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lisa to our Chicago office and the Hospitality Practice. Her addition continues to strengthen our hospitality offering in Chicago and she will be a great asset to our firm and clients worldwide,” Michael J. Baum, co-chair of the Chicago Real Estate Practice, said.
Cox joins the group shortly after of counsel Caroline Pricher in Phoenix and associate Rosemarie Salguero in Washington, D.C. This is the fourth new hire in the last six months for the practice, which also added Andrew C. Williams to the team in January.
“It has been an exciting year for our practice in terms of growth and the industry-setting deals we continue to take on. We are very happy to be welcoming Lisa to our hospitality team. Her deep experience and knowledge in the hospitality sector will further strengthen our practice and add to our position as go-to hospitality attorneys,” Greenberg Traurig’s Hospitality Practice co-chairs, Richard F. Davis, Nelson F. Migdal, and Michael J. Sullivan said in a joint statement.
Cox received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law and her B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
