BOSTON – June 21, 2018 – Chinh H. Pham, chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Emerging Technology Group and co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Group in Boston, has been named chair of the board of overseers at the Museum of Science, Boston. The election took place at the Annual Meeting on June 18th.
The Boston Museum of Science overseers are community leaders and friends with a special interest in science, technology, and education who support the museum’s mission. As chair, Pham will work with the museum and other overseers to help advance the museum’s mission, and to form a bridge between the museum and communities through STEM education.
Pham will also serve as voting trustee of the museum. Museum trustees act as ambassadors, advocates, and solicitors for the museum to connect to individuals and organizations representing a broad cross-section of professions, community and cultural backgrounds. Trustees are responsible for ensuring the museum’s overall well-being.
A longtime supporter of the museum, Pham has been an overseer since 2014, and has served as chair of the Fundraising and Events Committee since 2016. He is also vice-chair of the museum’s Discoverers Committee. Additionally, Pham has participated since 2009 as a member of the museum’s Boston Marathon team in support of Traveling Programs, which brings science and technology to schools and communities that may otherwise not be able to come to the museum.
The museum’s mission is to play a leading role in transforming the nation’s relationship with science and technology. The Museum of Science, Boston is committed to deepening the public’s relationship with science and technology by leading efforts throughout the United States and abroad, in both formal and informal educational arenas, to redefine the roles that science centers can play.
