Greenberg Traurig’s Liz Dudek Speaks at Hillsborough County Chapter of FALA

Tampa, FL – Sept. 20, 2018 – Liz Dudek, Director of Health Care Affairs for global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. will speak at the Sept. 25 Hillsborough County Chapter meeting of the Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA) at 10:00 a.m. at Tessera of Brandon located at 1320 Oakfield Drive in Brandon, Florida.

Dudek’s presentation will provide an overview of the success of the first five years of Florida’s Statewide Medicaid Managed Care program, and the changes that will be facing assisted living facilities and their residents as a result of the program’s new contracts for 2018-2023. She will address specific information on changes that will affect facilities in Hillsborough County.

The Florida Assisted Living Association is the oldest assisted living association in the state. For more than 25 years, they have provided members with advocacy, education, and regulatory support. It is the largest state association representing nearly 500 assisted living facilities and adult family care homes and 200 associate members who provide assisted living products and services.

Based in Greenberg Traurig’s  office, Dudek is Director of Healthcare Affairs, and is part of the firm’s state and national Health & FDA Business Practice, as well as the Government Law & Policy Practice. She helps the firm’s clients navigate the healthcare system, interact with agencies, and better understand legislative affairs and their accompanying issues. Her career in Florida’s state government spanned over 40 years across a variety of senior management positions including Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration and Deputy Secretary of Health Quality Assurance. As Secretary, Dudek oversaw one of the largest Medicaid programs in the nation. Under her administration, the Agency successfully implemented the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care program and the establishment of the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. She has worked extensively with health care facilities, providers, and insurers.
