Co-Managing Shareholder Jaret L. Davis Awarded Gold Medal from Miami Today

MIAMI – May 7, 2019 – Jaret L. Davis, co-managing shareholder of the Miami office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., received the individual gold medal at Miami Today’s annual Gold Medal Awards, which celebrate the honorees’ contributions to the Greater Miami area. The awards were presented May 6 at an invitation-only reception and dinner.

Miami Today’s Gold Medal awards spotlight six elite individuals, companies, and institutions that have been honored by others in the past year as the best in their industry. Davis was honored in 2018 with the Attorney of the Year award from the Daily Business Review and The Apogee Award from South Florida Business & Wealth magazine. Davis and his team were also honored in 2018 with the Daily Business Review’s Most Effective Lawyer award for their representation of leading U.S. insulation distribution and installation company, TopBuild Corp., in a $475 million acquisition.

“It is truly an honor to receive this distinction from Miami Today,” Davis said. “I look forward to many more years of contributing to South Florida’s legal, business, and nonprofit communities as they continue to grow.”

As co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office, Davis oversees approximately 170 attorneys and 200 business staff. For more than a decade, he has overseen the office and served as one of several attorneys leading the firm’s efforts to be a dominant player in the technology industry, both in South Florida and beyond.

Davis focuses his corporate and securities practice on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and large financings. He routinely provides representation to publicly traded clients having an aggregate market capitalization of over $20 billion. The majority of his clients are technology players, ranging from information technology companies, to life sciences/biotech companies, to companies focusing on renewable energy sources.

During Davis’s tenure, the firm's Miami office has cultivated a reputation as a thought leader in representing angel investors, venture capital firms, growth equity funds, as well as various technology companies along all intervals of the life cycle, from startup to multibillion-dollar publicly traded companies.

Active in South Florida’s technology, business, and nonprofit communities, Davis became chairman of the Nicklaus Children's Hospital Board of Directors in 2018, and is a past chair of The Miami-Dade Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official economic development organization.
