Shari Heyen Named to List of ‘Women Who Mean Business’

HOUSTON – Aug. 20, 2019 – The Houston Business Journal has selected Shari L. Heyen, Co-Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Houston office and Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice, among its 2019 “Women Who Mean Business.” Heyen is recognized in the category of “Outstanding Leaders in Law.”

“I am deeply honored to be included among this group of strong female leaders in our city,” Heyen said. “I also feel fortunate that I am part of a firm that believes in the value of female leadership and having a diversity of voices in the business discussion.”

Earlier in 2019, Heyen was named by the Global M&A Network as a "Top USA Woman Dealmaker." She is recommended by The Legal 500 United States for her work in Corporate Finance-Restructuring (including Bankruptcy). She also earned recognition by The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law as well as Bankruptcy Litigation.

Heyen focuses her practice on complex restructuring, bankruptcy, insolvency and complex commercial litigation matters, and has broad experience in the prosecution and defense of fiduciary litigation, real estate, oil and gas, health care, receiverships and alternative energy matters.

The Houston Business Journal’s 2019 Women Who Mean Business list recognizes 75 of Houston’s most successful female leaders in for-profit and nonprofit industries. Nominees are selected by a panel of three judges based on career achievements, contributions to the success of their company and city, community involvement, and leadership, the journal notes.

Honorees will be recognized at an awards reception on Oct. 3 and in a special section of the Oct. 4 edition of the Houston Business Journal. To learn more about the event and to purchase tickets, visit https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/event/163868/2019/women-who-mean-business-awards-gala.
