PHILADELPHIA – Sept. 26, 2019 – Shareholder Jillian C. Kirn of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, participated in the season-opening meeting of the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia, serving as the panel moderator for the featured presentation. A Q&A with the standing-room only audience, comprised of law students, early-year lawyers, and seasoned veterans, followed the formal presentation at the Sept. 18 meeting.
Kirn, a member of the firm’s award-winning Environmental Practice, led a discussion with corporate counsel of color from some of the most significant companies in and around Philadelphia. From determining if, when, and how to go "in-house," to defining success, to addressing the challenges of implementing meaningful diversity strategies, attendees gained insights from a dynamic panel whose members hailed from Wells Fargo & Co., Clear Channel Outdoor, LLC, Suez Water Technologies & Solutions, Comcast Corp., and The Vanguard Group.
Kirn focuses her practice on complex environmental and energy litigation, regulatory compliance counseling, and resolution of environmental liabilities identified during transactions. She has wide-ranging experience representing clients in litigation in state and federal courts and works on behalf of developers and corporations with the acquisition, sale, and financing of contaminated real estate, including environmental liability transfers. She also routinely assists clients with risk management matters in the context of proposed project redevelopments, renewable energy securities transactions, and legacy remedial liabilities at industrial sites.
The Barristers’ is a National Bar Association-affiliated chapter with a network of 1,000 private- and public-sector lawyers, jurists, and legal professionals. Greenberg Traurig is the chapter’s 2019-20 monthly meeting sponsor.
