HOUSTON – Sept. 15, 2020 – Sandra Gonzalez and Adelaida Vasquez Mihu, shareholders at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will participate in the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA)/Vision in Action Corporate Counsel Conference and Annual Convention (CCC-AC2020), taking place Sept. 15-18 and Sept. 22-24 respectively. Greenberg Traurig is also a sponsor of the events.
This year, HNBA has combined two of its signature events with the themes: “Together We Rise” and “StayConnected.” According to the HNBA website, the agenda features virtual programming, including continuing legal education sessions, plenaries, and specialty programs, along with an exhibitor and sponsor showcase, networking opportunities, awards ceremonies, and virtual receptions designed to foster connections, recognize achievements, and encourage collaboration.
Mihu, a HNBA Latina Commissioner, will lead two breakout sessions during the Latina Leadership Academy on Tues., Sept. 15 as part of the HNBA CCC. The first breakout is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. ET followed by the second session at 1:45 p.m. ET. Both sessions will focus on leadership, authenticity in the legal profession, and executive presence.
On Thurs., Sept. 24 at 11:00 a.m. ET, Mihu will moderate and Gonzalez will be a panelist for the session titled, “FCPA Trends: Perspective from the Regulatory and Compliance Bar.” Panelists will discuss hot topics in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement and how to best implement an effective compliance program.
Gonzalez focuses her practice on international corporate compliance matters and more specifically, the FCPA and the UK Bribery Act. Gonzalez assists clients around the world to design, build and implement anti-corruption compliance policies and procedures consistent with the elements of an “effective compliance program” under U.S. Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission guidelines.
Mihu focuses her practice on international compliance matters and counsels companies doing business in international markets. Mihu advises on a host of compliance and transactional due diligence issues arising out of various government regulations and assists clients with developing anti-corruption programs.
