Frank Citera to Participate in Class Action Mediation Webinar

CHICAGO – Oct. 11, 2021Francis A. Citera, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Class Action Litigation Practice, will participate in a webinar hosted by Upchurch Watson White & Max titled “Seven Common Mistakes in Class Action Mediations (And How to Avoid Them)” on Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. CDT.

The panel, which offers continuing legal education (CLE) credit, will discuss “why it’s almost never too early -- or a waste of time -- to mediate a class action,” and “the problems of not bringing in and/or negotiating with all interested parties and not knowing the true costs of a proposed settlement.” It will also “show why it’s a good idea to remember the key elements of settlement during every part of the mediation, to engage the mediator afterward to resolve post-mediation issues and to realize that mutuality is the key to successful resolution,” according to the event’s website.

Citera is a nationally recognized trial lawyer representing clients in product liability, toxic torts, class actions, and other complex litigation matters in federal and state courts. He has over 35 years of experience and is co-chair of the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts Litigation Practice and Chicago Litigation Practice. An experienced architect of litigation strategies, Citera defends companies in various industries and business sectors including retailers such as Albertson’s, Claire’s Stores, Inc., Sears, and Whole Foods to technology and electronics companies like Qualcomm, Sony Electronics, and Underwriters Laboratories.
