Ian Ballon To Speak at 2021 Institute on Entertainment Law and Business

LOS ANGELES – Oct. 11, 2021 –   Ian C. Ballon,  co-chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, will speak at the 2021 Institute on Entertainment Law and Business Oct. 16, 2021. The virtual program is co-hosted by the USC Gould School of Law and the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA).

The annual program highlights renowned speakers in the entertainment and business industry. “For over 65 years, the USC Gould-BHBA Institute on Entertainment Law and Business has been the premier conference for entertainment professionals in the nation,” according to USC Gould of Law.

Ballon will speak on “Fair Use and First Amendment Defenses in Copyright, Trademark, and Right of Publicity Litigation - What’s New and What’s Changing” from 11:15 p.m. – 12:15 p.m. PDT. His speech will outline the latest legal developments in fair use and First Amendment law, litigation, and strategy, including competing trends under copyright, trademark, and right of publicity law. The presentation will cover what the latest case law and trends  mean for entertainment companies and practitioners now and in the coming years.

Ballon is an intellectual property and internet litigator who represents clients in copyright, DMCA, trademark, trade secret, right of publicity, privacy, security, software, database, and internet- and mobile-related disputes, and in the defense of data privacy, cybersecurity breach, and adtech putative class action suits.
