3 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Recognized in Variety’s 2021 ‘Legal Impact Report’

ATLANTA – April 12, 2021Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders Daniel H. BlackBobby Rosenbloum, and Mathew S. Rosengart have been recognized in Variety’s 2021 “Legal Impact Report.” The annual report spotlights the world’s leading attorneys in the entertainment industry.

 The lawyers recognized in the 2021 report “navigated their clients through the treacherous waters of the pandemic and now appear poised to guide them into a new era of growth,” according to Variety. This is the eighth time Black and Rosengart have been featured in Variety’s “Legal Impact Report” and the sixth time for Rosenbloum.

Black, vice chairman of Greenberg Traurig’s global Entertainment & Media Practice and chairman of the West Coast Entertainment & Media Practice, was recognized in Variety’s 2021 report for his representation of gamer Bungie (Halo), Pokémon, TV channel AXS TV, toy company Spin Master, publisher Springer Nature, and Bill Gates/Gates Ventures for content matters. The report also cites Black’s handling of $120 million in employment contracts, with 60% of his clients being gender and ethnically diverse. Black has experience in the television, motion picture, and digital media arenas, having practiced law both in major studio and law firm settings. He has served as lead counsel on transactions with the major motion picture studios and television networks, in addition to major internet content producing, licensing, and advertising entities. Black’s clients include production and distribution, internet, video game, and augmented reality companies as well as advertising agencies, showrunners, and producers, along with on-air television and sports personalities.

Rosenbloum is chairman of the firm’s global Entertainment & Media Practice. Variety’s 2021 report recognizes him for music and tech deals valued at $3 billion in the past year, representing ByteDance/TikTok, and advising on transactional and IP matters for the Recording Academy; Facebook for music licensing; Spotify for global music licensing; and Equinox Media for music. Rosengart is also noted for his representation of clients including Steven Spielberg and Amblin; Julia Louis-Dreyfus; DJ MK/Marc Kinchen; Michael Mann; Sean Penn and his charitable relief organization CORE, and Keanu Reeves. His entertainment practice includes representing several Academy-Award-nominated and winning writers, directors, and actors, as well as film production and management companies, in high-profile, complex entertainment litigation matters and trials ranging from breach of contract to defamation and film and television disputes.
