Mark L. Mattioli and Andrew Tsui to Co-Present at 2022 Philadelphia Regional Healthcare Compliance Conference

PHILADELPHIA – Aug. 2, 2022 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Health Care & FDA Practice Shareholder Mark L. Mattioli and Of Counsel Andrew Tsui will co-present on common compliance and enforcement issues at the 2022 Philadelphia Regional Healthcare Compliance Conference through the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).

Mattioli and Tsui’s presentation, “How to Keep Compliance Issues from Becoming Enforcement Nightmares,” will take place Aug. 5 at 1 p.m. They will discuss strategies and best practices when responding to regulators as well as frequent reporting errors insights on enforcement actions encountered by health care compliance professionals.

HCCA supports more than 12,000 compliance professionals working with or in health care organizations through continued educational and development opportunities.

Based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, Mattioli advises hospitals and health care systems on medical staff issues, privacy and security under HIPAA, and government payment programs and audits. With more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry, he provides transactional, regulatory, and compliance guidance in areas concerning health care reform, reimbursement, licensing, and managed care contracting. Beyond Greater Philadelphia, Mattioli has litigated cases across the country including Kansas, New Hampshire, Missouri, and Vermont.

A member of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, Tsui spent over a decade of his career as litigation counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Division and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Department of Justice. His experience defending federal health care programs and regulations in courts nationwide ranged from tri-departmental challenges under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) to highly technical Medicare payment and enforcement determinations by CMS and its contractors. He focuses on assisting clients in the health care, medical technology, and life sciences industries as they anticipate and reach Medicare coding, coverage, and reimbursement milestones that are critical to successful operations. Tsui also maintains a practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal courts.
