Lee M. Blum focuses his practice on public and private mergers and acquisitions, as well as on general corporate, governance and securities matters. He advises clients on a broad range of transactions and related matters, including domestic and cross-border transactions, private equity transactions, divestitures, joint ventures, unsolicited transactions, takeover defense, and financings.

Lee represents clients in a variety of industries such as health care and pharmaceuticals, information technology, financial services and retail, on both the buy-side and sell-side of transactions.

  • Representation of Mylan in numerous transactions including its $50 billion combination with Upjohn, a division of Pfizer, to form Viatris, its successful takeover defense against Teva’s $40 billion hostile bid and its proposal to acquire Perrigo in a transaction valued at approximately $35 billion.°
  • Representation of Deutsche Börse in its $2.275 billion acquisition of ISS from Genstar Capital LLC and its $850 million acquisition of Axioma, which was combined with Deutsche Börse’s index businesses valued at €2.6 billion, and related partnership with General Atlantic.°
  • Representation of RELX Group in its $375 million acquisition of ID Analytics and its acquisition of Safe Banking Systems.°
  • Representation of Unilever in its acquisition of OLLY Nutrition.°
  • Representation of Novartis in its $2.1 billion acquisition of Endocyte.°
  • Representation of CalAtlantic Group in its $9.3 billion merger with Lennar Corp.°
  • Representation of Blount International in its $855 million sale to affiliates of American Securities and P2 Capital Partners.°
  • Representation of Symetra in its $3.8 billion sale to Sumitomo Life.°
  • Representation of AerCap Holdings N.V. in its $21 billion financing in connection with its acquisition of GE Capital Aviation Services from General Electric.°
  • Representation of the underwriters in connection with the initial public offering of American depositary shares of Mynaric AG, a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced laser communication technology for aerospace communications networks in government and commercial markets.°
