Addiped Cheng is a junior associate in Greenberg Traurig's Competition and Regulatory Group. She advises clients on all aspects of EU, UK and Hong Kong competition law, including behavioural competition advice, contentious matters and UK/EU merger control.

In addition to competition law, Addiped also advises on anti-bribery and corruption issues, and has assisted clients in conducting internal investigations into fraud, bribery and corruption.

Addiped’s experience spans a range of industries including gaming, racing, airlines, construction and construction materials, real estate development, telecoms, shipping, oil and financial services.

Experience

  • Provided strategic advice to businesses in Hong Kong on the implementation and operation of all aspects of the Hong Kong Competition Ordinance (Cap.619), including conducting whole-business risk assessments and making recommendations on steps necessary to ensure compliance. Clients included payment system network operators, real estate developers, utility and energy businesses, retail businesses, media companies, electronics manufacturers, construction materials producers, a port, container and cargo management company, and trade associations.
  • Developed bespoke competition law compliance training materials in written Chinese (simplified and traditional) and English and delivered training to various Hong Kong businesses in both Chinese and English.
  • Managed a China-wide dawn raids response network for a global chemicals, paints and coatings company.
  • Conducted internal investigations in relation to suspected fraud and bribery for businesses in the gaming, aviation and hotels and hospitality sectors in Macau and Hong Kong.
  • Advised competing businesses in relation to their joint carrying out of salary surveys.
  • Represented various Hong Kong real estate businesses in advancing or defending claims in adverse possession; provided strategic advice to land owners to prevent and defend potential claims in adverse possession.
