Alexandra (Chen) Jia is a patent prosecution attorney experienced in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the computer science and EE fields. Her practice is complimented by years of engineering experience in programming languages and computing platforms at Motorola Labs, Motorola, Inc. and elsewhere. Alexandra prepares and prosecutes patent applications relating to software and electrical arts in the areas of e-commerce, financial service technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), IoT, cybersecurity, user interfaces, database management, distributed platforms, virtual machines, servers and processing units, data storage systems, as well as digital health management. She is fluent in both English and Chinese, conducts inventor disclosure meetings, examiner phone interviews, and advises clients regarding responses before the patent offices in Europe, China, Japan, Korea, India, and elsewhere. Alexandra also counsels start-up companies and other emerging technology companies on various legal issues involving utility patents, design patents, and trademarks.

Alexandra further leverages her academic experience in the areas of life sciences, microbiology, and computer science to protect her clients’ interests in these disciplinaries.
