Steven L. Miller, Jr. has more than 15 years of law firm and corporate counsel experience in commercial real estate matters and business law. His practice is focused on real estate development, leasing, and the acquisition, disposition, construction, and financing of real estate projects. Steven also routinely serves as local Texas counsel for the delivery of third party legal opinions. Equally comfortable working with local and multinational clients, Steven counsels on real estate issues and strategies to improve and advance business goals.

Prior to joining the firm, Steven worked as in-house corporate counsel for the world’s largest provider of executive office suites, where he was responsible for legal matters involving marketing, real estate, sales, and telecommunications. Steven has also worked for both a large law firm and a boutique law firm. As a former corporate counsel, Steven provides a pragmatic hands-on approach and understands the importance of maximizing growth potential while minimizing risk.

  • Represented a large health care provider in the sale, ground lease, and leaseback of professional/medical office buildings on multiple hospital campuses and the acquisition of real property for hospital campus development.
  • Represented a national developer in the development of a multi-building office campus.
  • Represented a performing arts center during its construction, startup activities and ongoing operations, including the drafting and negotiation of contracts, license agreements with resident companies, license agreements with nonresident companies, a garage management agreement, and a restaurant lease.°
  • Represented a nonprofit developer that was developing affordable housing projects by drafting and negotiating partnership agreements with equity investors, leases, financing agreements with municipalities, loan documents with lenders and other ancillary documents.°
  • Represented a petrochemical company in obtaining and providing services and the operation of a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Represented a liquefied natural gas producer in the acquisition of real property in an industrial office park for development of a multi-liquefier natural gas production and distribution facility.
  • Counseled tenants and landlords in the drafting and negotiation of commercial leases.
  • Provided Texas legal opinions in numerous Texas and multi-state transactions.
  • Counseled in-house clients regarding marketing agreements, sweepstakes, promotions, leases, licenses, estoppels, subordination and non-disturbance agreements, client and vendor agreements, and telecommunication agreements.°
