  • Assisted a Mexican financial group focused on infrastructure investments in the due diligence process and general legal assistance for the acquisition of a cogeneration power plant located in eastern Mexico.
  • Represented an international company on its capital investment in a Mexican technology-focused solar and smart home solutions company, providing financing to facilitate consumer loans for residential solar photovoltaic systems.
  • Advised a North American company seeking to perform cross-border energy trading transactions with the Mexican wholesale electricity market.
  • Representation of power generation companies participating in the auction processes from the National Center for Energy Control (CENACE) for the granting of long term electricity contracts for the sale of electricity, capacity and clean energy certificates.
  • Represented power generation companies, supply companies, retailers and offtakers (qualified users) in their regulatory filings to participate in the new wholesale market implemented under the electricity reform.
  • Represented large offtakers in the analysis of their options to purchase capacity, energy and clean energy certificates and in the drafting and negotiation of electricity supply agreements.
  • Advised Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects interconnected to the wholesale electricity market with general regulatory issues under the new framework.
  • Represented a major international oil company in an open season process to reserve storage and transportation by pipelines capacity for gasoline and diesel in Pemex’s infrastructure.
  • Advised multinational logistics and commodities companies in the application and obtainment of hydrocarbons, fuels and biofuels permits issued by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) and by the Ministry of Energy (SENER) under the new legal framework.
  • Represented a major E&P company in all matters related to the first and second bidding processes of the National Hydrocarbons Commission’s (CNH) Round One for the award of production sharing contracts for the E&P of hydrocarbons in shallow waters.
  • Represented a natural gas company in several bidding processes issued by the Federal Electricity Commission for the construction of several natural gas transportation pipelines and the provision of transportation services.
  • Represented an EPC contractor in a force majeure claim against a developer of a natural gas pipeline.
  • Represented a natural gas company in a bid process issued by Pemex Gas & Basic Petrochemicals (PGPB) for the construction of a natural gas transportation pipeline and the provision of transportation services (Los Ramones II).
  • Represented a bidder in the third round of mature fields of Pemex Exploration & Production (PEP) under new model contract with capex recovery and a fee per barrel.
  • Represented an international company in the supply of subsea equipment to Pemex Exploration & Production (PEP) for an important producing gas field.
