Cate Sharp


Cate Sharp is the Co-Managing Shareholder of the London office. She has broad experience in a wide range of environmental, health and safety-related matters, especially in the energy, chemicals and manufacturing fields. She also advises clients on regulatory matters, environmental claims, sustainability and climate change issues.

Cate offers commercial support on transactions and projects, frequently with a cross-border element, and works closely with her colleagues to support other areas of practice, including real estate, finance, litigation and disputes.

Cate is highly recommended by independent guides to the legal industry.   • Advised AB Volvo on the environmental aspects of the sale of its North American construction equipment rental business to Platinum Equity for $1.1 billion.
  • Advised AB Volvo on the environmental aspects of the acquisition of Terex Corporation’s articulated and rigid hauler business.
  • Advised AB Volvo on the environmental aspects of the sale of its Volvo Aero (aircraft engines) division to GKN Holdings plc.
  • Advised InterContinental Hotels Group PLC on carbon-related matters.
  • Advised Rentokil Initial plc on environmental aspects of the sale of its Initial Facilities business to Interserve plc for £250 million.

  • Advised Electro-Science Laboratories, Inc. on the complex environmental issues arising in respect of its acquisition by Ferro Corporation.
  • Advised a large petrochemical client on environmental matters relating to a proposed major refinery and petrochemical complex.
  • Advised a large construction company on a number of regulatory investigations into waste- and water-related matters.
  • Advised a financial institution in respect of the European Emission Trading Schemes and ERPAs with respect to a CDM Project.
  • Advised a large chemical company in respect of retaining and trading carbon credits.
