Andrés Vega focuses his practice on domestic and cross-border energy industry transactions, including renewable energy, power, and conventional energy transactions. He has experience working in multiple countries, including Mexico and across Africa (particularly sub-Saharan Africa), in upstream and midstream oil & gas projects, including FLNG and natural gas, as well as renewable energy projects.

Experience
- Advised a state corporation in the development of a FLNG project in West Africa, including the drafting and negotiating of the project agreements.°
- Advised an energy company in the acquisition of several gas-power projects in South Africa under the independent power producer program of South Africa.°
- Assisted an operator of an offshore oil mining license in Nigeria in the negotiation of a well services agreement for the petroleum activities under the license as well as a lifting agreement for the hydrocarbons produced.°
- Collaborated with the African Energy Chamber in the and content management of the State of African Energy Report FY2022, and Q1 and Q2 FY2023, and with the yearly report FY2023.°
- Represented a bidder awarded by the National Hydrocarbons Commission in Mexico with a License for the Extraction of Hydrocarbons, including advise in the structuring, financial, and technical capabilities of bidder, as well as in the financing of the project, and the regulatory matters for the execution and performance of the License and Joint Operating Agreement with Mexico’s NOC.°
- Assisted several operators and oil-services providers with their procurement procedures, including the implementation of manuals regulating the basic and specific terms of the agreements, its fallback position for the negotiation process, and the procedures required for its internal approval.°
- Advised in the financing and the negotiation of security packages for the acquisition of major onshore and offshore assets for the oil and gas exploration and production sector as well as in the negotiation and implementation of construction and transportation agreements in Mexico.°
- Provided continued assistance in business, corporate, financial, tax, and regulatory matters to several operators with onshore and offshore production sharing agreements for the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons as well as with the performance and implementation of their joint operating agreements.°
