Cuba Practice

In recent years, as the United States has begun to establish closer diplomatic and business ties with Cuba, our attorneys have advised U.S. and non-U.S. clients seeking to take advantage of possible business and investment opportunities in Cuba. We have leveraged and grown our award-winning Latin American and Iberian Practice Group to provide a variety of services to clients as they enter the Cuban market.

Our multidisciplinary Cuba team is led by attorneys experienced in critical areas of law relevant to doing business in Cuba, including corporate and export controls. In addition, our clients can count on the support of our experienced team in other relevant areas, such as tax, environmental, real estate, resorts, energy, infrastructure, and governmental affairs.

Corporate: Our firm is widely recognized as having one of the leading Latin American transactional practices, having acted as lead counsel on numerous complex corporate and M&A transactions. On matters related to Cuba, our corporate team is led by firm Vice Chair Patricia Menéndez-Cambó and Yosbel Ibarra, who serves as co-chair of the firm’s Latin American and Iberian Practice Group. Born in Cuba, Yosbel has been working on Cuba-related matters for years and is a frequent speaker on Cuba-related issues.
