4 Pieces Of Real Estate Regulation To Watch In The 2nd Half

nvestors and developers are closely watching several key areas of real estate-related law — including tax law for foreign investors in real property and crowdfunding — and attorneys expect a push in the year's second half to encourage additional foreign investment in real estate.

Robert J. Ivanhoe of Greenberg Traurig LLP said that while the proposed change is a step in the right direction, he believes more needs to be done to encourage foreign investment in the U.S.

“Reducing the barriers to foreign investment would increase liquidity in the real estate markets and stabilize the base of investors into our markets for years to come,” Ivanhoe said.
