Greenberg Traurig’s Lauri S. Thompson to be Honored by Vegas Magazine

LAS VEGAS – Oct. 31, 2016 – Lauri S. Thompson, shareholder in the Las Vegas office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will be honored by Vegas Magazine for her work for the Board of Trustees of the Nevada Ballet Theatre. She will be honored Nov. 15 at the Vegas Magazine’s annual “Vegas Gives” event.

Each year, Vegas magazine celebrates women of Las Vegas in various professional fields who strive to make a difference for worthy causes in which they have a personal connection to.

Prior to pursuing a legal career, Thompson spent two years performing with the Nevada Ballet Theatre and has a profound understanding of the ballet community. She is dedicated to developing self-esteem and strong work ethic among student dancers. Thompson focuses on the Nevada Ballet Theatre’s outreach to local students through the in-school Future Dance program which offers free in-school dance instruction and the opportunity to earn scholarships. She is also committed to the further development of the world class professional company, in residence at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

“My passion extends far beyond just ballet. There is nothing more rewarding than helping this organization build community advocacy and ensuring children are given the opportunity to dance,” stated Thompson.

Thompson, focuses her legal practice on intellectual property, including working with gaming resort companies, software companies, and entertainment companies to protect and enhance their key brands and corporate images through strategic management of their worldwide trademark and copyright portfolios. She works to help increase the visibility and value of their names and images, through trademark, copyright, and domain name registration, and internet monitoring and enforcement. Additionally, she works with interior design groups for hotels and casino resorts on third-party vendor agreements, purchase orders, and strategies to control intellectual property rights.
