Ballon and Gilbert will present “Trends in Data Privacy, Security Breach and TCPA Litigation and How to Draft Documents to Minimize the Risk of Litigation,” from 2:20 to 3:05 Nov. 17. They will discuss emerging trends in data privacy, security breach, and TCPA class action suits, and the strategies that companies can use to reduce exposure, position to win on the merits or defeat class certification. The focus will be on practical strategies, with drafting and negotiation tips and examples.
Ballon is co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice and represents technology, media, and entertainment companies in intellectual property, internet, and mobile-related complex litigation, including the defense of data privacy, security breach, and TCPA class action suits. Gilbert, a shareholder in the firm’s Silicon Valley office, focuses her practice and research on U.S. and global data privacy and security in a wide variety of markets, including, among others, internet, cloud computing, big data, connected devices, sensors, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. Her clients include public or multi-national entities, cloud service providers, big data analytics companies, connected device developers, publishers, internet stores, insurance companies, financial institutions, manufacturers, service providers, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, software developers, and others.
