Greenberg Traurig Hosts Philly Tech Week

PHILADELPHIA – May 3, 2016 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will be hosting three separate events in support of Philly Tech Week May 4, 2016, at the firm’s Philadelphia office. The three panels are:

  • Tech Start-Ups and Crisis. Beginning at 10 a.m., this session will discuss best practices for handling crises in the tech startup industry including compliance, immigration, investor relations, and economy-sharing. The panelists include President & CEO of Bellevue Strategies, Mustafa Rashed; Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Emerging Technology Practice, David Gitlin; and Of Counsel for Greenberg Traurig’s Business Immigration and Compliance Practice, Nataliya Rymer.
  • Structured Exits: A New Universe of Potential Funding for Companies in Underserved Markets. This session, beginning at 2 p.m., will discuss investment structures, known as “structured exits,” designed to achieve a desired investment return without reliance upon a traditional exit. Panelists include Gitlin and Director of Global Emerging Growth Services for Greenberg Traurig, Beth Cohen.
  • The Anatomy of a Chocolate Start-Up. At 5 p.m. MUCHOMAS Chocolate and Greenberg Traurig present the story of an eCommerce food startup leveraging an international supply chain and a web-based marketing program. Panelists include the Founders of MUCHOMAS Chocolate, Sam Lehr and Derek Menaldino, as well as Gitlin and Cohen.

Cohen, as Director of Global Emerging Growth Services, advises clients on emerging growth issues, and counsels early and growth stage clients in connection with key strategic initiatives, including raising capital. She also advises foreign companies in connection with their entry into the U.S. market.

Gitlin co-leads the firm’s Emerging Technology Practice. He focuses his practice on corporate and securities, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, technology development, and corporate finance.

Rymer represents clients in a wide range of employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant matters, including professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty traders and investors, immigrant investors, and persons of extraordinary ability.
