Greenberg Traurig Attorney Henry Greenberg Elected to NYSBA’s Executive Committee as Vice President of Third Judicial District

ALBANY  – July 8, 2016 — Hank Greenberg, shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP’s Albany office, was elected to the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Executive Committee as Vice President of the Third Judicial District, which includes Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster counties.

With 30 years of experience, Greenberg concentrates his practice on civil litigation, criminal and civil investigations, health law matters, and regulatory and administrative law. He has vast experience in the public sector, having previously served in a variety of government posts, including counsel to former New York State Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, from 2007 to 2010; general counsel for the New York State Department of Health from 1995 to 2000; an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York, from 1990 to 1995; and law clerk to then-Judge (later Chief Judge) Judith S. Kaye of the New York Court of Appeals, from 1988 to 1990. 

Greenberg is chair of the NYSBA’s Committee on the New York State Constitution.  He previously served in the House of Delegates, was co-chair of the Committee on Court Structure and Operations, and chair of the Legislative Policy Committee, Steven C. Krane Special Committee on Law School Loan Assistance for Public Interest (SLAP), and Committee on Attorneys in Public Service.

Greenberg is vice chair of The Historical Society of New York’s Courts, a life fellow of the New York Bar Foundation, and a member of the New York State Judicial Institute on Professionalism in the Law and the Advisory Group of the New York State and Federal Judicial Council.

Greenberg received degrees from the University of Chicago, with honors, and Syracuse University College of Law, cum laude.
