Greenberg Traurig Attorneys to Speak at Intellectual Property & Technology Law Institute

DENVER – May 11, 2017 – Intellectual property and technology litigator Ian C. Ballon and litigation attorney Anthony Robinson from the global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will speak at the 15th Annual Rocky Mountain Intellectual Property & Technology Law Institute, which is being held June 1 – 2, at the Westin Hotel in Westminster, Colorado.

Ballon, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice and a shareholder in the Silicon Valley and Los Angeles offices, will be presenting the 2017 Copyright Update session from 2:40 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., June 1. Ballon will address trends and circuit splits in software copyright, DMCA, and fair use litigation, among other topics.

Robinson will be co-presenting the Food for Thought: Marketing Food, Beverages and Supplements Under a Microscope from 2:50 – 3:40 pm, June 2. The panel will discuss navigating the regulations enforced by state and federal agencies, competitive challenges regarding NAD and Lanham Acts, and how to avoid the courtroom.

The 15th Annual Rocky Mountain Intellectual Property & Technology Institute will provide attorneys a tour of developments important to their practice. Attendees will hear from practice and thought leaders nationwide, the Chief Judge of PTAB, the Chief Judge of TTAB, the PTO Regional Director, SPEs, and the Commissioner of Trademarks. The two-day event will discuss IP liability, developments in licensing, the new Defend Trade Secrets Act, open source, privacy and data security, as well as what's next from leaders in the technology.

Ballon represents technology, media, and entertainment companies in intellectual property, internet, and mobile-related complex litigation, including the defense of data privacy, security breach, and TCPA class action suits.
