Greenberg Traurig Supports Amundi Real Estate in Largest Single - Asset Real EstateTransaction in Netherlands

Amsterdam - May 23, 2017- The Amsterdam office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP served as legal counsel to funds managed by Amundi Real Estate in the largest single-asset real estate transaction in the Netherlands to date. Shareholders Jan Kees Brandse, Peter Jansema and Alex Westerman lead the Greenberg Traurig team that assisted Amundi Real Estate in this landmark acquisition of the property The New Atrium office building from Icon Real Estate. Amundi Real Estate was advised by investment manager, L’Etoile Properties. L’Etoile will also handle the management of The New Atrium upon completion of the sale. The New Atrium is a well-known office complex that includes c. 60,000 sqm of office space in Amsterdam’s prime South Axis business district.

“We are honored to have assisted Amundi Real Estate funds with this transaction, which speaks to our broad capabilities for institutional real estate investors in the Netherlands and beyond,” Brandse said. “The broad skills of our team and the size and breadth of Greenberg Traurig’s international real estate team allows us to work with clients on large and complex projects, such as The New Atrium acquisition.”

“A transaction of this magnitude requires internal and external client and advisory team collaboration as well as a deep knowledge of the real estate aspects involved, including structuring and tax matters. We are very fortunate to have an interdisciplinary team in Amsterdam that can address both of these critical items in real time,” Jansema added.

Our growth and synergies allow us to reach more clients more effectively across Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.” In addition, Rosedale noted that recent large lateral team expansions in London, Berlin and Central Europe have significantly augmented the firm’s International Real Estate team’s capabilities which have been matched by the organic growth of the Amsterdam real estate team, which now stands at more than 20 real estate specialists.
