FORT LAUDERDALE – Jan. 9, 2018 – A team of Greenberg Traurig P.A. attorneys led by Fort Lauderdale shareholders Fred E. Karlinsky and Stanley "Stash" Jacobs, Jr. assisted an affiliate of Global Bankers Insurance Group, LLC in its acquisition of Pavonia Holdings (US), Inc. and its subsidiaries from Enstar Group Limited on Dec. 29, 2017 for $120 million.
The Greenberg Traurig legal team on the transaction included Corporate Shareholder Flora R. Perez, Corporate Associates Grant J. Levine and Alexander Zachariah , and Government and Law Policy Senior Practice Attorney Andromeda Monroe.

Karlinsky has nearly 25 years of experience representing the interests of insurers, reinsurers and a wide variety of other insurance-related entities on their regulatory, transactional, corporate and governmental affairs matters.
Jacobs is a corporate and securities lawyer who focuses his practice on a broad range of transactional matters. He represents buyers and sellers in a variety of transactional work including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, venture capital and other transactions.
Pavonia was originally acquired by Enstar from HSBC Finance in 2013 and represented Enstar’s North American life and annuities business. Before being placed into run-off in 2011, Pavonia provided credit life and disability insurance, term life insurance and structured settlement annuities on a primary basis as well as through reinsurance from third parties. Pavonia is licensed in 49 states and conducted business in Canada.
