Greenberg Traurig’s Sandy Chiu Appointed President-Elect of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida

MIAMI – Oct. 30, 2018 – Sandy Chiu, an associate in the Miami office office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., was recently appointed president-elect of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida (APABA).

The APABA of South Florida is a non profit, voluntary bar organization of attorneys in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties who support APABA’s objectives and are dedicated to ensuring that minority communities are effectively represented in South Florida. The organization’s overriding mission is to combat discrimination against all minorities and to promote diversity in the legal profession. APABA of South Florida is an affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).

“I’m looking forward to working with other members of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida to help support the organization’s mission and goals,” Chiu said. “Now more than ever, it’s important to ensure that the legal profession continues to reflect the diverse communities it serves and provides continued opportunities for the growth of minority lawyers.”

A member of the Corporate Practice at Greenberg Traurig, Chiu focuses her practice on intellectual property in general corporate and securities matters. She handles intellectual property worldwide portfolio management for many public and private companies and advises on protecting intellectual property and minimizing risks. Chiu also advises clients on copyright protection, brand development, as well as trademark use, registration, prosecution, clearance, cybersquatting, and enforcement.
