GT Elevates 3 Attorneys to Shareholder in Boston Office

BOSTON – March 6, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has elevated Emily Ladd-Kravitz, John K. Wells, and Dr. Fang Xie to shareholders in its Boston office.

Firmwide, Greenberg Traurig announced the elevation of 42 attorneys to shareholder from 21 of the firm’s offices and 14 practice areas, with female attorneys making up 50 percent of the new shareholder class. In addition to the elevations, Greenberg Traurig reported firmwide revenue for FY2017 of $1,477,180,000, an increase of 7.28 percent over 2016. This is the fourth consecutive year of record-setting revenues for the firm. Additionally, the firm’s Profit per Equity Partner increased 5.42 percent to a record $1,634,000.

Ladd-Kravitz focuses on complex corporate transactions and representation of private companies in all stages of their life cycles. She represents venture capital funds, private equity firms, other institutional investors, and companies in connection with a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, minority investments, venture capital financings, and corporate governance matters. She also advises startup and growth-stage companies in all industries, including, technology, edtech, medical device, clean energy, sustainable solutions, and life sciences.

Wells focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, and regulatory matters. He frequently represents financial services clients, including broker-dealers, investment advisors, banks, and private equity funds, in matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, U.S. Department of Justice, and state regulatory authorities, as well as in state and federal courts and arbitration forums across the country. Wells has broad experience in a wide variety of litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, employment matters, restrictive covenants, securities fraud and securities class actions, multi-district litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, products liability, wrongful death, and real estate litigation. He also manages corporate internal investigations across multiple jurisdictions and industries.

Dr. Xie has broad experience in various IP-centered transactions, worldwide patent portfolio management, IP due diligence, licensing and technology transfer, patentability and product clearance studies, validity/invalidity analyses, patent infringement evaluations, as well as IP litigation and pre-litigation counseling. Dr. Xie’s primary technical areas include biotechnology, synthetic biology, and pharmaceuticals, with a focus on immunotherapy, antibody and biologics/biosimilars, nucleic acid synthesis, gene editing, protein and organism engineering, stem cell technology, biomarkers, diagnostics, small molecule drugs, regenerative medicine, and analytical chemistry. Her clients include a number of strategic and venture investors, venture-backed biopharma startups, as well as top-tier academic research institutions. She is experienced in U.S.-China cross-border deals. Dr. Xie holds a Ph.D. in Biology from MIT.
