Greenberg Traurig Grows IP Practice in Philadelphia; Former TEVA Associate GC Joins

PHILADELPHIA – April 5, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continued the strategic growth of its award-winning Intellectual Property & Technology Practice with Jonathan Wise joining the firm as Of Counsel in its Philadelphia office. Wise previously served as Associate General Counsel at Teva Pharmaceuticals where he was a member of the IP litigation team for the past eight years.

“Jon is a seasoned IP lawyer with significant ANDA Hatch-Waxman experience and patent litigation and counselling experience,” said Scott J. Bornstein, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice. “Jon brings a unique perspective to our strong, existing ANDA litigation team as someone who has served as both in-house and outside counsel, for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. We are excited to welcome him to the firm.”

At Teva, Wise worked with outside counsel on the company’s patent litigation strategy for dozens of U.S. pharmaceutical patent cases, working with teams on major Hatch-Waxman trial and appellate wins for a number of Teva’s drug products. He also managed teams of lawyers overseeing Teva’s U.S. generic patent cases and conducted internal trainings on patent litigation and the U.S. discovery process in the United States, Europe and Israel.

"We continue to grow our office and strategically deliver the level of experience and quality that our clients have come to expect from Greenberg Traurig. Jon’s addition to our global IP practice is in keeping with that vision,” said Curtis B. Toll, managing shareholder of the firm's Philadelphia office.

“I have worked with the Greenberg Traurig team for many years and have always been impressed by the firm’s national and global footprint and tailored legal advice,” Wise said. “I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in Philadelphia and throughout the firm.”

Wise received his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2005, and his undergraduate degree from Penn State University in 2002.
