GT Continues Support of Family Promise of Morris County’s Community Impact Award Dinner

MORRISTOWN, NJ – Oct. 23, 2019 – For the 14th consecutive year, global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP proudly supports Family Promise of Morris County’s (FPMC) annual dinner, “An Evening of Promise: Honoring Volunteers and Community Service.” This year, Morris County Sheriff, James Gannon will receive the 2019 Community Impact Award, which honors organizations and individuals making a tangible impact in the local community. The dinner will be held on Oct. 24 at The Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph, New Jersey.

The event provides an opportunity to thank volunteers and community partners who have dedicated their time, energy, and resources to help eliminate homelessness in the community. In addition to the annual dinner, the firm has sponsored the Community Impact Award for the past eight years.

“We are proud to support worthy charitable organizations like FPMC that make a real difference in the lives of many New Jersey residents. It has been amazing to watch this organization expand their services and the number of people they assist each year,” said New Jersey Shareholder, Barry J. Schindler, chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Patent Prosecution Group and  FPMC’s Corporate Leadership Council chairperson.

"Partnering with Greenberg Traurig for the last 14 years has allowed Family Promise of Morris County to grow the scope of its programs and services, and populations served," said Joann Bjornson LSW, Executive Director. “Greenberg Traurig and their staff have been amazing! Whether providing pro bono legal advice and representation, sponsoring this dinner for our volunteers, hosting bake sales, and holding Friday jean's day events, Greenberg Traurig has stood by our side as we serve those in need in Morris County. Most recently, staff have supported our Making Moves Matter Team and helped provide needed items and support to house 40 households moving out of homelessness last year alone! They are a true partner and we thank them for their friendship."

Family Promise of Morris County is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness faced by Morris County families by partnering with other public and private agencies, religious congregations, and community volunteers to provide shelter, case management, and mentoring services leading to self-sufficiency.
