Barbara Meili Named to The Hollywood Reporter's 'Top 20 Dealmakers of 2019' List

NEW YORK – Dec. 5, 2019 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP's Barbara Meili, has been named to The Hollywood Reporter's "Top 20 Dealmakers of 2019" list. The fourth annual dealmakers list spotlights the individuals behind some of the biggest entertainment deals of the year.

Meili represented Magnolia, the home and lifestyle brand led by Chip and Joanna Gaines, in negotiations with Discovery, Inc. to launch a media joint venture. The multiplatform media company will include a linear television network and is expected to be unveiled in Summer 2020.

Meili, chair of the firm’s New York Entertainment and Media Practice, focuses her practice on representing clients in the U.S. and international video distribution industry, including counseling clients in virtually all aspects of license and distribution arrangements for traditional and emerging distribution technologies, and related merger and acquisition activity and regulatory issues. Her concentrations include cable television and digital media distribution agreements, retransmission consent agreements, regulatory issues, and license and distribution agreements. Meili was named a Top Lawyer by Cablefax in 2017. She has also been listed in Chambers & Partners USA GuideThe Legal 500 United States, and The Best Lawyers in America, among others. Meili serves as a member of the American Bar Association, the Bar of the City of New York, and Women in Cable & Telecommunications.
