Brooke Elyse Hazan

Brooke Elyse Hazan has experience handling a broad range of intellectual property matters including complex patent, Hatch-Waxman, trademark, and copyright litigations, as well as ITC proceedings. Brooke has taken and defended fact and expert depositions and been an integral member of litigation teams while counseling clients regarding all phases of discovery, pre-trial issues, mediation, and settlement. Brooke’s technical experience encompasses a wide variety of industries such as pharmaceutical compositions, solid oral dosage formulations, mechanical and medical devices, automotive components, circuits, navigation systems, telecommunications, computer-implemented processes, optical devices, and steel products.

In addition to litigation, Brooke has experience relating to patent prosecution matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, such as drafting and prosecuting utility and design patent applications and handling post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board including inter partes reviews. Brooke has also provided general intellectual property counseling to clients, conducted due diligence analyses, and drafted freedom to operate, (in)validity, and (non)infringement opinions on a diverse range of technologies.

Brooke’s intellectual property experience further includes drafting and counseling clients on a wide spectrum of transactional matters relating to joint research and collaboration, manufacture and supply, licensing, assignments, software subscriptions, confidentiality, non-disclosure, and settlement agreements.
