Scott Mullen focuses his practice on commercial business disputes, real estate and eminent domain litigation, trust and estate matters, products liability litigation, entertainment litigation, and general litigation matters. He has experience representing individual and commercial clients in state and federal courts, and has experience representing clients in appellate matters before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Court of Appeal.

Experiencia

  • Represented administrator of substantial estate in action to recover valuable assets held by another at time of decedent’s death. Court held estate was entitled to recovery of personal property.
  • Second chair at five-day trial representing estate beneficiaries in dispute as to testamentary intent and nature of estate distributions.
  • Obtained dismissal at the pleading stage of products liability and wrongful death action on behalf of major pharmaceutical company. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals then granted motion to dismiss appeal as to client as frivolous.
  • Obtained judgment quieting title to valuable real property at the pleadings stage in favor of client in major dispute against adjoining property owner.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of estate administrator against recipient of loan from decedent entitling estate to recovery of the loaned funds, plus award of double damages and attorneys’ fees for loan recipient’s financial abuse of a dependent adult.
  • Represented major pharmaceutical company in products liability action in California.
  • Represented major public utility company in the business of operating solar panel farms in California in multiple condemnation actions for purposes of High Speed Rail project.
  • Wide-ranging pro bono immigration experience.
  • Represented party holding beneficial interest in deed of trust against condemnee in eminent domain action and successfully negotiated payment to party of entire amount of deed of trust interest out of condemnation deposit.
  • Represented financial institution in state court proceedings seeking confirmation of arbitration award against former employee and negotiated payment to financial institution of entire award.
