Vishesh Narayen

Vishesh Narayen’s practice focuses on complex intellectual property litigation, including data privacy and cybersecurity litigation, with an emphasis on high-stakes patent infringement litigation, trade secret matters, litigation involving cutting-edge technology.  He has represented clients in complex patent infringement litigation involving a variety of technologies and industries in forums across the United States, including in federal district court, post-grant proceedings such as inter partes and covered business method reviews before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission. Vishesh also has wide-ranging experience representing clients in technology licensing disputes and data privacy and cybersecurity litigation, including recently defending a top web property in cybersecurity litigation stemming from a data breach in which the putative plaintiff class sought hundreds of millions in damages.

Vishesh has litigated cases involving a multitude of technologies, including software, microprocessors, semiconductor manufacturing, orthopedic implants, medical devices, telematics, 4G LTE wireless communication, and vaccines. His experience as trial counsel includes securing a complete defense victory for a client accused of trade secret misappropriation where the plaintiff, a competitor, sought millions in damages, a complete defense judgment in a complex patent inventorship trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and a successfully instituting inter partes review over . Vishesh’s ITC experience includes representing one of the world’s largest and most successful semiconductor foundry as respondent in Certain Standard Cell Libraries, Inv. No. 337-TA-906.

Vishesh served for 2 years as a law clerk to the Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Vishesh’s technical experience includes a background in electrical and computer engineering and computer science. He holds a law degree from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
