Greenberg Traurig’s Mark G. Tratos and Bethany Rabe Present at UNLV’s ‘Siegel on Entertainment Law’ Event

LAS VEGAS – Nov. 28, 2018 – Shareholder Mark G. Tratos and Associate Rabe of global law firm Greenberg’s Las Vegas office spoke at UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law’s “Siegel on Entertainment Law” event, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018.

Tratos and Rabe, members of the firm’s Entertainment and Media Practice, gave a CLE presentation titled “Entertainment on the Internet: The Evolution of Entertainment Production, Distribution, Ownership, and Control in the Digital Age.” The presentation focused on the evolution of entertainment and momentous changes caused by the digital revolution. Topics included: the historical mechanics of the entertainment industry; the industry’s past and present concerns related to technology; the development of digital computers, internet technologies, and their commercialization; and the legal causes and impact of unauthorized digital distribution of entertainment over the internet.

Tratos, founding shareholder of the firm's Las Vegas office, also gave a presentation titled “Exhibitions: Art and Artifacts Exhibits as an Expansion of the Entertainment Industry,” exploring the business, financial, and legal issues arising in art and artifact exhibition.

Tratos focuses his practice on a variety of entertainment, intellectual property, and litigation matters. He represents artists and performers, resort, hotel, and casino entities in federal court litigation involving trademark, copyrights, domain names, rights of publicity, and privacy law for known casino brands. He represents many of the largest resorts in the world on brand development and protection strategies, enforcement, and infringement litigation.

Rabe focuses her practice on entertainment-related litigation, with particular interest in copyright, trademark, right of publicity, defamation, and internet matters, as well as appellate litigation and brand management.
