Debra McGuire Mercer and Bernadette Rappold to Present “New FCC and e-Waste Regs for Electronics” Webinar

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 2, 2018 – Bernadette M. Rappold and Debra McGuire Mercer of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will present a complimentary CLE webinar on “New FCC and e-Waste Regs for Electronics,” March 5 from 12:30-1:30pm ET. The discussion will include an overview of the recently-finalized rule changes governing equipment authorizations for devices imported and sold in the United States, including labeling, testing, and authorizations needed for market trials and product demonstrations. It will also survey the e-waste laws adopted in 25 states, plus the District of Columbia.

Mercer is of counsel in the firm’s Federal Regulatory & Administrative Law Practice. Her work focuses on communications regulation, and judicial and administrative litigation. Mercer has practiced extensively before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), state public utility commissions, and trial and appellate courts. Mercer's litigation experience encompasses civil, criminal, and regulatory issues related to telecommunications, government contracts, international trade, and commercial disputes. Mercer also counsels companies on business, contract, and transactional matters.

Rappold is shareholder in the firm’s Environmental Practice. Her work focuses on federal and state regulatory issues related to energy and the environment. She has substantial litigation experience and advises clients on regulatory compliance as well as the environmental, safety, and health aspects of numerous business and real estate transactions, including water, air, and chemical hazards. Prior to working at Greenberg Traurig, Rappold served 15 years at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on a variety of economic and industrial sectors including the oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, and agriculture industries.
