Greenberg Traurig Wins Most Innovative Gender Diversity Initiative Honor at Chambers Women in Law Awards USA 2018

NEW YORK July 2, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP won the Most Innovative Gender Diversity Initiative honor at the Chambers and Partners Women in Law Awards: USA 2018.  Winners were announced at a ceremony and reception Thursday, June 21, at The Yale Club in New York City.

Chambers considered several components in selecting the winner for the award, including the historical commitment to a gender diversity program, the firm’s benchmark for success of its programs, as well as impact on recruitment, retention and/or promotion of women lawyers at the firm.

Greenberg Traurig is at the forefront of gender diversity, taking an innovative and inclusive approach to elevating the diversity conversation, spreading awareness, and moving ideas into actions within boardrooms and across markets. The firm does this by collaborating with clients across a broad spectrum of industries, community and professional organizations, and media partners.

Greenberg Traurig supported the nomination of several clients who were shortlisted for the in-house categories of the award series with Lin Cherry, Senior Vice President and General Counsel at HBO, winning for Outstanding Contribution to Fostering an Inclusive Environment for Women in the Legal Profession.

According to Chambers and Partners, its women’s awards program is a unique opportunity to champion the achievements of legal practitioners from both in-house and private practice. The publication highlight firms and companies who are bringing about dramatic improvements in gender equality as well as women's advancement and inclusion in the legal profession.

Greenberg Traurig was also shortlisted for the Pioneering Pro Bono Program of the Year award, and Associate Eva M. Spahn was shortlisted for the individual Future Leader – Gender Diversity award.
