Greenberg Traurig’s Karlinsky, Corbella Among ‘Most Influential’ in Florida Politics: Influence Magazine

TALLAHASSEE, FL – June 25, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Shareholder Fred E. Karlinsky and Senior Director Gus Corbella have been included in Influence Magazine’s 2018 edition of The Influence 100: The most influential people in Florida politics.

The annual issue profiles the 100 most influential people in Florida policy and politics including lobbyists, campaign consultants, major donors, and journalists.

Corbella is Senior Director of the Government Law & Policy Practice of the firm's Tallahassee office. He focuses on legislative and executive branch lobbying and public policy advocacy. With a formidable background in state and federal government, as well as state and national campaigns, Corbella previously served as Chief of Staff to the Florida Senate President, staff director for the Majority Offices of both the Florida Senate and House of Representatives, and worked for a Member of the United States Congress. His role as chief advisor to government's most prominent leaders has provided him with a broad knowledge of the process and issues before the Florida Legislature, and state and federal government.

Corbella is also active in numerous state and national organizations, serving as Chair of Opening Nights Performing Arts at Florida State University, as an Associate Member of The Recording Academy (GRAMMYS), and as Chair of the Tallahassee Leadership Council of the Children's Miracle Network at University of Florida Health Shands Children's Hospital.

A shareholder in the firm’s Tallahassee and Fort Lauderdale offices, Karlinsky is Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Insurance Regulatory and Transaction Practice. He has more than 25 years of experience representing the interests of insurers, reinsurers and a wide variety of other insurance-related entities on their regulatory, transactional, corporate and governmental affairs matters. Karlinsky is a recognized authority on national insurance regulatory and compliance issues and has taken a leadership position in many insurance trade organizations, has led many industry-driven legislative and regulatory initiatives, and is a sought after thought leader who has spoken and presented to insurance executives and governmental officials, both nationally and internationally.

In addition to his role with Greenberg Traurig, Karlinsky has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Florida State University College of Law since 2008, where he teaches a course on Insurance Law and Risk Management. He is a Florida Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) Commissioner and a member of the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission.
