Evan Holden Speaks at National Academy of Sciences Roundtable on Biomedical Engineering Materials Applications

ATLANTA March 26, 2019Evan Holden, a shareholder in the Atlanta office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was a panelist at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Roundtable on Biomedical Engineering Materials Applications (BEMA), March 25 in Washington D.C. at NAS’ Keck Center. Holden, a member of the firm’s award-winning Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice, addressed, “Medical Device Liability—How Do We Prevent Claims from the Get-Go?”

NAS is a private, nonprofit organization of the country’s leading researchers. The BEMA Roundtable brings together government officials, industry representatives, academics, and other leaders for discussions of issues related to research, development, applications, and regulation of biomedical materials and devices.  Holden’s panel discussed product liability law applicable to manufacturers of medical devices and strategies for companies to minimize risk and avoid litigation.

Holden represents life science companies, medical device manufacturers, global product manufacturers and Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. With over a decade of experience in products liability litigation, Holden is on the national counsel teams for some of the world’s largest medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies. He also counsels clients on compliance matters, risk assessment, product recalls, and reporting activities governed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, FDA, and other federal and state regulatory bodies. Holden is a core member of the team that was named American Lawyer’s 2018 “Product Liability Litigation Department of the Year” and 2018 “Georgia Regional Litigation Department of the Year.”
