Libby Stennes Joins Environmental Litigation Team in Minneapolis Office

MINNEAPOLIS – Aug. 27, 2019 – The Minneapolis office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues its strategic expansion with the addition of Libretta Stennes as a shareholder in the firm’s Global Litigation Practice. She joins Greenberg Traurig from Steptoe & Johnson LLP where she was a partner.

“Libby is an exceptional lawyer with an impressive background. We are delighted to welcome her to the firm,” said Michael B. Fisco, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Minneapolis office. “We remain focused on growing our Minneapolis office with high quality lawyers who can provide value to our clients and contribute to our firm culture.”

“We are thrilled to have someone of Libby’s caliber and with her expertise join our litigation department. We already share important firm clients and have benefited from working together in the past. Libby’s area of practice is right in the crossroads of important and evolving issues faced by our clients today: environmental, products liability, and toxic torts,” Global Litigation Practice co-chairs Lori G. Cohen and Jeff E. Scott said in a joint statement.

Stennes litigates complex disputes, representing clients on matters related to environmental and mass tort defense, products liability and commercial disputes for clients in the food, agribusiness, chemical and life science industries. She guides clients through complex issues that arise from chemical exposures from products or environmental releases, particularly under emerging regulation. Stennes often leads large defense teams across multiple jurisdictions in high profile matters.

“Over the years, I have worked alongside excellent lawyers from Greenberg Traurig and am excited to be part of the firm,” Stennes said. “Greenberg Traurig offers practice areas and a geographic platform that will contribute to my client service at a time when energy and environmental issues are center stage in Minnesota and across the country.”

Stennes earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law and her B.S. from Pennsylvania State University.
