Carlos R. Lago Elected to the Downtown Miami Charter School Board of Directors

MIAMI – Sept. 30, 2019 – Carlos R. Lago, a shareholder in the Miami office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., was elected to the board of directors of Downtown Miami Charter School, a tuition-free public charter school.

Downtown Miami Charter School serves up to 650 students in grades K-6 by providing an enhanced curriculum, small class sizes, low student-to-staff ratio, parent involvement opportunities, personalized learning plans, character building education, and experienced faculty, according to the school’s website.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the board of directors of Downtown Miami Charter School,” Lago said. “I look forward to working with teachers, faculty, and my fellow board members to instill in students a lifelong love of learning.”

Lago is a member of the Land Use & Land Development Practice of the firm’s Miami office. He focuses his practice on land use, zoning, and governmental affairs representing clients in numerous multi-million-dollar transactions throughout South Florida. He is active in helping both the owners and developers of historic properties use the city’s transfer of development rights program, allowing historic property owners to sell their property’s excess development rights to developers. Lago has achieved successful results for clients who are bringing quality projects to downtown Miami, the Edgewater area of the City of Miami, Wynwood, Brickell, and beyond.
