Greenberg Traurig’s Kemal Hawa and Emily Naughton Present at DICE Midwest 2019

McLean, VA – Sept. 10, 2019 – Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s attorneys Kemal Hawa and Emily G. Naughton will be participating in the Midwest Data Center Investment Conference & Expo (DICE), Sept. 17 in Chicago, IL.  The conference attracts data center operators, Cloud providers, enterprise end users of information technology, private equity firms, and lenders.

Hawa will moderate the panel, “The State of the Market: Capital, Development and the Midwest's Data Center Boom,” at 8:30 a.m. Naughton will moderate the panel, “Financial Sector Deep Dive: Scalability, Sustainability and the Enterprise Perspective in the Cloud Age,” at 12:45 p.m.

Hawa focuses his practice on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on the telecommunications, media, and technology industries, domestically and internationally. He regularly advises public and private companies, private equity firms, investment banks, and creditors’ committees on a variety of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcies and restructurings, investments, financing arrangements, licensing agreements, and commercial transactions. Hawa assists clients with the negotiation of transactions in the cloud computing space, including the negotiation of data center and co-location leases, globally. He also has broad experience in the negotiation of network infrastructure transactions, including submarine cable systems (builds, financings, and capacity procurement), as well as terrestrial fiber optic network transactions.

Naughton focuses her practice on transactions in the telecommunications, media, and technology space, with an emphasis on cloud computing.  She has represented clients in connection with real estate acquisitions, development projects and leases, mergers and acquisitions involving cloud service providers, and telecommunications network infrastructure deals.  Naughton has represented some of the world’s largest content providers globally in connection with network procurement and colocation and data center leases involving providers ranging from multinational companies to single facility operators.
