Greenberg Traurig’s Timothy Long Speaks at PLI’s Wage & Hour Litigation and Compliance 2020 Conference

NEW YORK – Jan. 30, 2020 – Timothy Long of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP presented at Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) “Wage & Hour Litigation and Compliance 2020” conference, held Jan. 28 in New York. 
 
The full-day conference focused on the latest legal developments in wage and hour litigation, Department of Labor initiatives and regulatory changes, and issues related to independent contractor and joint employment relationships.  

Long moderated a panel titled “Auditing Wage & Hour Practices: Top Mistakes Employers Make.” The panel discussed common mistakes made by employers in wage and hour compliance, unlawful pay practices that have been targeted by worker rights advocates, how to effectively use audits of pay practices, and what actions to take when a violation is discovered.

Long, a shareholder in the firm’s Sacramento and Los Angeles offices, has deep experience litigating complex labor and employment issues, having served as lead counsel in multiple class, collective, and representative actions and advising on dozens more. His clients have included a variety of financial institutions and entities, health care-related entities, airlines, retailers, high-tech companies, and transportation and logistics companies. Long also advises private investment funds and their partners in disputes concerning the management of funds, removal of non-performing members, and disputes involving portfolio companies.
